Summer Korean Language and Culture Camp “Silla Wave 2016” ended successfully on August 13.

Twenty-eight students from 5 countries took part in this intensive 2 week program from July 31 to August 13. As a result, all the participants grew close to each other, could build wonderful friendships and unforgettable memories through diverse activities.

Not only did “Silla Wavers” have Korean language classes at Silla University`s Korean Language Center conducted by our highly qualified teachers, but also had hands-on experiences of Korean Cooking, Traditional Costume Hanbok, Korean Masks Painting, Taekwondo and Korean Cosmetics & Make Up.

Moreover, Silla Wave 2016 offered students an opportunity to explore Busan, as well as to have trips to Gyeongju City, Geojedo Ilsand & Oedo Botania, Ulsan City, etc.

Participants noted that they were impressed by the infrastructure of Silla University, quality of the Dormitory “Global Town”, coziness of the campus. One of the best parts of the camp for them was also to get to know their “Korean Buddies” – students of Silla University who volunteered to participate in the program and made sure by taking their duty very seriously to do everything they could to show their new international friends the best of Korea, Busan city and Silla University.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Yang, Seun Hoon (Vice-Director of the Office of Int`l Affairs), have congratulated participants` accomplishments in his closing remark, while Dr. Jeong, Hae Young (Director of the Office of Int`l Affairs) has granted the students with the Certificates of Accomplishments and memorable gifts.

This valuable “Silla Wave” experience has helped many students to discover an interest in learning and improving Korean language and probably continuing their education in Korea and Silla University. Without any doubt, this two-week adventure will make students want to take meaningful steps towards their future and self-development.
